Cool New Job Opening at Dogster

Jobs at Dogster Inc.: "Woof! Meow! Do you really care about online community? Do you really care about dogs, cats and people? Do you want to work somewhere that is truly special? Dogster.com and Catster.com are on the prowl for a new Community Manager to oversee the community experience on two of the most vibrant passion-centric sites on the internet.

The ideal candidate will have oodles of experience overseeing online community activities. You'll know how to keep the peace like Switzerland, nullify grumps and be a silver-tongued communicator (online, on-phone and in-person). You'll know what it means to work at a fast-paced, rapidly-growing profitable start-up. And yes, having a profound love of dogs and cats would be very helpful. Your reward will be watching your happy, thriving community grow while members adorn you with praise for nurturing an environment that is so meaningful to so many."

Amazon Text Stats

There are text statistics available for Who Let the Blogs Out?: A Hyperconnected Peek at the World of Weblogs. For example, if you buy the book you'll get 3,965 words per dollar spent and 8,398 words per ounce. My sentences have on average 17.5% words each (44% of books have longer sentences). There are 278, 545 characters in the book—that's about 1,990 Twitter updates worth! This is pretty neat, maybe we should have stats like this on Twitter.

The joy of marriage
Originally uploaded by Dunstan Orchard
Livy and I got married at The Stanford Inn in Mendocino, CA this weekend. An idea that started out as an elopement with a couple witnesses turned into a classically beautiful wedding in a garden by the sea because of all the generous and thoughtful efforts of some truly amazing friends. We're just getting back and settled now so I'll tell the story of how it all went down later but wow, what a great weekend and marriage we just had. I'm pretty sure my *wife* (!) liked it too, despite her body language in this photo. Here are some Flickr sets from sem and maile. 71miles has a good description of Mendocino.
