Here's To Your Future Self

Even though I've known he was going to move on pretty much since I took my job almost a year ago, this announcement still feels big and I'll miss barging in to Ev's cube with insightful questions like, "So, what are you doing? Typing something? Looks like you're typing something. You blogging something? Nice!" Nevertheless, with the blogfather out of the picture, we can finally go legit. Thanks for laying the groundwork Ev, we'll take it from here!

Yeah all the best to Evan. Will be interesting watching his next venture methinks.

And nice of you to have your comments open for this one as he couldn't be bothered ;-) What's he afraid of? TOO MANY people wanting to thank him? I mean there's what, only 1.5 million or so people with Blogger blogs... ;-)

Well, I guess I would "move on" too, if I was suddenly worth anywhere from 5-10 million dollars. That's just a guess. Am I close?

Through Biz, I'd like to thank Evan for all his great work over the last few years. I've been using blogger since day two and can't live without it. Evan, if you ever find yourself in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada...

Biz, I really like the philosophy behind Blogger. And I like the philosophy behind Google. So, while I wouldn't question Ev's sincere attitude that Blogger will be okay in the hands of Google, I...well...I just hope the investors feel the same way. I've really only recently gotten involved in the blogging world ("blogosphere") and what goes on with it. I've learned quite a bit from you guys and I've come to the conclusion that Google simply has the best attitude, vision and philosophy--that I can tell--of the Internet companies out there. I just hope Google stays that way.

I agree with "just another anonymous kook". I a relatively new to blogging too and thanks to blogger. I cannot believe the things I have learnt through the bloggers of blogger - new philosophy, seeing this at a different perspective, attitude of people, new creativity (the list goes on). Made quite a few new friends as well from different places of the globe (all on blogsphere :D).

Good luck Evan and keep up with the good work.
