Day Three

My dogs are gonna be barkin'. I'm at day three of DigitalLife where the Blogger demonstrations never stop. Yesterday there were lots of folks coming by the booth asking about blogger. When I asked them if they already had a blog, the response was very often, "No. But I have a Xanga." Nice.

That is so funny. The "cool", yet "dumb", kids at my school all have Xanga's. I don't like Xanga. I don't get why people use other services when Blogger is like way better.

I'd never go back to Xanga--Blogger is far more professional. Though, something like Moveable Type, in my opinion, is better for web designing professionals. Also, if you read this Biz, the commenting capability of Blogger is sub par. By forcing people to have an account with Blogger (unless you want to be "anonymous") in order to comment, I believe is something analogous to something Google is clearly against: a portal. I like Haloscan's commenting application, and I think Blogger should move to something like that. Wow, that turned into a soapbox. Sorry about that.

To me, the Xanga user is kind of the new equivalent of the AOL user.
