Oh yeah, my Netflix for Thursday:
First, an expedition of archaeologists travels to Egypt in search of the undiscovered tomb of the princess Ananka. Their expedition turns to horror when they find the tomb guarded by a living mummy in The Mummy's Hand. Then, in The Mummy's Tomb, a high priest travels with the living mummy Kharis to murder those who had desecrated the tomb of the Egyptian princess Ananka. I love it when those tomb robbing archaeologists get mummulated.

I heard that soon our televsion remotes will feature the ability to select on-screen logos for more information about a product. So you might click the TiVo magnet on the fridge during Friends to get the latest product specs, epinions, or (for lower priced items) even buy it at Amazon with one-click. Okay, maybe I didn't hear that. Nevertheless, it is slightly futuristic.
A blogger's homage to The Shining.

Dear Biz:

Whereas 3M is not currently making a small inkjet printer that can be loaded with Post-it(R) Notes, 3M is making the 3M Printscape(TM) Personalized Notes which consists of six Post-it Notes on an 8 1/2" x 11" liner that can go through ink jet or laser printers.

If you would like more information, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Cheryl

I've got an idea for the fine family of Post-it Brand Products from 3M. Here it is: The Post-it Printer. Just put in a blank pad, launch Post-it® Software Notes, write your note, and print. Perfect little notes! Genius Labs: always thinking.

Screensavers solve protein puzzle: "Thousands of desktop computers have resolved a long-standing biological puzzle, in a breakthrough in simultaneous data processing, a British journal reported on Wednesday." In total, it took 2,000 years of computer time to crack. Cool.

Analysis of the Human Footprint indicates that 83% of the land's surface is directly influenced by human agency. 98% of the areas where it's possible to grow rice or wheat or corn are similarly influenced. It is within the remaining 17% of the land's surface that some of the best remaining opportunities for conservation lie.

BlogName.com for $25 you can buy a domain name but keep your blog at blogspot. Cool.
I've just signed up to teach a wintersession class here at Wellesley called Blogging 101. I really am dangerously close to being obsessed with this medium. Somehow I knew this back when I wrote my Blogger Quote.
Boston area Blogs. Wicked. Now if we can just get Dunkin' Donuts to launch a corporate blogging initiative to sell more "crullas," we'll be all set.

The Stupid Crook Book is the number two book right now at the Xanga Top 50. I love the cover. (The Xanga Top 50s are the items that appear most frequently on Xanga blogs. Every time a Xanga blogger adds something to the Currently Playing, Reading or Watching area of their site, they cast a vote for that item. Pretty cool.)

I'm working on a bunch of stuff right now. I wish I had more time to reorganize my site. I'm psyched to Web Crimson-ify my various variouses.
I did an author interview for my book a little while ago. It's up now if you want to take a look. Nice.

Trellix technology will power EarthLink’s future Web site building and blogging offerings.
I like "the blogs." I'm keeping one here at work to keep track of things I spot that might be useful. I've also got a few blogging initiatives here at Wellesley in the works. Blogs go well with academia.

Wellesley College hosted its annual (79th) Alumnae Leadership Council this weekend. There were many social hours, workshops, and dinners. My highpoint was a technology presentation of our new "Class eNotes" feature. My laptop pages were projected on to a 30 ft screen while I spoke about personal publishing to about 300 hyper-intelligent women. What did I type and submit? "Send help."

Homeless guy finds a refuge on the Internet "When Barbieux started his blog, his aspirations were small; he simply hoped to communicate with a few people. But now that he has attracted the attention of thousands, he's hoping for something bigger — such as a way out of homelessness for himself and maybe for others as well."

Oh no! The keyboard on my old G3 Powerbook stopped working last night. The only buttons that work are the +, -, and ~ keys. I want a new iBook and I want to give the g3 to my sister but now I'm wondering if getting it fixed is going to trash the plan and throw Genius Labs into disarray. Maybe I can just invent a language using only + - ~. Hmm.
